I’ve spent much of my life insanely curious about consciousness, the workings of the mind, and how it effects the human experience of life.

I was bullied in grade school, and had severe anxiety around it. I remember very clearly one morning when I was about 9 years old…getting ready for school, feeling my usual stomach knots, nausea and tingly arms and my Mother came into my room and said, “what are you doing? Today’s a holiday”. Suddenly, the uncomfortable feelings went away. Although I was very young and didn’t have words to describe it even to myself, that was my first inkling that I was in control of how I experience the world by how I direct my thoughts and expectations.

I spent the next 35 years chasing ‘success’ - professional, financial, athletic - to prove my worth to myself and others.

I had the opportunity in 2020 to re-examine my life and intentionally plan my future, leaning into my greatest strengths and a true calling: to help others understand their minds and in so doing, optimize their experience of life. This avocation is what Welcoming Mind is all about. Thanks for being here.
